Scott has completed an arrangement of Joel Ross's piece "KingMaker" for jazz orchestra. It will be premiered by Joel with the Danish Radio Big Band on January 22 at the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen.

Scott has completed a 15-minute tuba concerto titled "Concerto, for Tuba and Piano", commissioned by Southern California-based tubist Gabriel Sears.

November 30
Scott's arrangement of "Besame Mucho is being featured at the MAX Proms in Utrecht, the Netherlands, performed by the Metropole Orkest and Manola “The Voice of the Gypsies”.

October 29
Scott's re-orchestration of "A Chorus Line" is being premiered at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Shows will run through January 5, 2020.

June 13
Scott's arrangement of Fred Hersch's "The Orb" is being premiered by Fred Hersch and the WDR Big Band, conducted by Vince Mendoza, at the Saalbau Essen in Essen, Germany.

May 19
The Southern California Brass Consortium is premiering six of Scott's transcriptions from Billy May's "Big Fat Brass" album as part of a tribute to Billy May. The concert is held at Los Altos Methodist Church in Long Beach, CA.

Scott's transcriptions of excerpts from Leonard Bernstein's "On the Town" are being premiered by the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra at McMahon Auditorium in Lawton, OK.

Four of Scott's arrangements are being performed by Trisha Yearwood at a special Valentine's Day concert at the Rainbow Room, the iconic restaurant atop the Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Scott is conducting the ILMEA All-State Honors Jazz Band at the four-day 2019 IMEC Festival in Peoria, IL.

Scott's commissioned arrangement of "We Shall Overcome" is being premiered by the Episcopal High School Orchestra and Concert Choir on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, commemorating 50 years of integration at Episcopal High School.

2018

December 7
"If You Really Want", an album by Raul Midón & Metropole Orkest conducted by Vince Mendoza, has been nominated for a 2019 Grammy Award in the "Best Jazz Vocal Album" category. Scott arranged two of the pieces on the album, "Sunshine (I Can Fly)" and "Ride on a Rainbow".

December 5
A concert entirely consisting of Scott's original compositions is being presented by the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra of the Music School of Lisbon (ESML) in Lisbon, Portugal under the direction of Lars Arens.

December 1
Two of Scott's arrangements are being performed by Gregory Porter and the Minnesota Orchestra in a concert titled "Nat “King” Cole and Me", conducted by Vince Mendoza, at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Scott is conducting the ILMEA District V Jazz Band I at the 2019 IMEC District V Festival in Charleston, IL.

September 14

Scott completed a commission of three original vocal jazz charts for Valley Christian High School's Vocal Jazz Ensemble in San Jose, CA.

Scott completed a commissioned theme and variations on "Twinkle, Twinkle" for Denali Brass, an LA-based brass trio. The piece will be premiered at the 2018 Dark Sky Festival.

Scott completed a commissioned arrangement of "Danny Boy" for the LA-based trombone quartet "Skinny Lips and the Sound Malfunction".

February 18
The Southern California Brass Consortium is performing Scott's arrangement of Jerry Goldsmith's "Soarin' over California", as part of their 9/11 "American Landscapes" Concert. The concert starts at 4pm at the Los Altos United Methodist Church in Long Beach, CA.

Two of Scott's arrangements are being performed by Metropole Orkest with Trijntje Oosterhuis as part of a Dutch TV event "Avond van de Jazzmuziek", featuring jazz classics.

2017

December 1
Scott's arrangements of eighteen Richard Rodgers classics will be performed tonight as a Broadway revue at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage at 6pm.

September 8
Scott has completed an arrangement of "The Jetsons Theme" for jazz orchestra that will be featured as part of a Jetsons attraction at the Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi amusement park.

August 14
Scott is performing with the Danjam Orchestra at the Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar in Toronto, CA at 9:30pm tonight and tomorrow.

July 22
Scott's composition "Dark Sky" is being premiered by the Denali Brass at the Dark Sky Festival in Sequoia National Park.

Scott's orchestrations of seven Ella Fitzgerald pieces are being premiered by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, CA.

June 14
Scott has completed a commission titled "Dark Sky" for the Denali Brass, a brass trio from Southern California, to be premiered at the Dark Sky Festival in Sequoia National Park on July 22.

April 21
Scott's arrangements of five Irving Berlin pieces are being premiered at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, CA by the Colburn orchestra as part of the Colburn School's gala. The arrangements showcase new choreography from world-renowned dancer Benjamin Millepied.

March 14
Scott is playing tuba in a run of the new musical Midwestern Gothic at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Shows will run through April 30.

March 10
Scott's arrangements for Fred Barton's "American Showstoppers: An Evening with Kandor and Ebb" can be heard tonight at the Schimmel Center at Pace University in New York, NY. The concert features Broadway notables such as Karen Mason, Brent Barrett, Nick Adams, Jesse Lutrell, N'Kenge, and others.

March 5
A concert of Scott's original band music is being given by the Millikin University Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center in Decatur, IL. Featured on the concert is the world premiere performance of the newly-commissioned "Harlem Drive".

March 2
Scott's compositions and arrangements are being featured in a night of music by the University of Illinois Concert Jazz Band at the Iron Post in Urbana, IL. Scott will be conducting a performance of his "Night Suite", featuring trombonist Jim Pugh.

Scott is in Illinois this week, giving a number of lectures and concerts at Millikin University in Decatur and at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

2016

September 11
The Southern California Brass Consortium is performing three of Scott's arrangements, "The Star-Spangled Banner", "Give Me Jesus", and "Land of the Free", as part of their 9/11 15th Anniversary Memorial Concert. The concert starts at 4pm at the Los Altos United Methodist Church in Long Beach, CA.

Scott is performing tonight with the Bohemian Caverns Jazz Orchestra at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage in Washington, D.C. at 6pm.

The New Standard Jazz Orchestra's album "Waltz about Nothing" has been released, featuring Scott's arrangement of John Wojciechowski's composition "Lexicon".

Scott has completed a commission for the Eric Miyashiro Band of an arrangement of "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. They will be performing it on a Japanese TV program called TV Asahi "Untitled Concert", airing Sunday, June 19 at 9am JST.

February 3
Scott's composition "Negative Space", commissioned by the American Tuba Quartet, is being performed at the annual U.S. Army Tuba and Euphonium Workshop at Fort Myer in VA.

January 15
Scott has completed a commission for the Air Force Academy Band Falconaires of an arrangement of Bruno Mars's "Uptown Funk". It will be recorded on the upcoming album to be released later this year.

2015

December 8
Scott is playing trombone in a run of West Side Story at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. Shows will run through January 31. Scott also re-orchestrated the show for the 17-piece orchestra.

December 4
The Southern California Brass Consortium's holiday album "Joyful & Triumphant" has been released, featuring Scott's arrangement of "The Christmas Song".

November 27
Scott is performing tonight and tomorrow night with a big band at Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago, IL, featuring Miho Hazama's compositions as well as her arrangements of Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage" album.

Scott's collection of seven Christmas Songs for Brass Quintet is now published through McGinty Music. It is available here.

Scott is starting a two-week stint at the Broadway nightclub 54 Below, playing trombone in a six-piece group backing up renowned Broadway star Patti LuPone for her show "Lady with a Torch". They will also be performing the show on May 2 in Purchase, NY.

Scott's composition "Maelstrom" is being premiered by the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, NY. The piece was commissioned as part of the New York Youth Symphony First Music program.

Scott's composition "Idyll" is being premiered by the Area Honor Band at Taylorville High School in Taylorville, IL. The piece was commissioned jointly by the ten participating schools- Central A&M High School, Hillsboro High School, Litchfield High School, Morrisonville High School, Nokomis High School, Pana High School, Raymond-Lincolnwood High School, Rochester High School, and Taylorville High School.

Scott is conducting a jazz band performing his music as part of the Jazz Composers Showcase, Vol. 2 at the Jazz Gallery in New York City. Also featured are composers Miho Hazama and Daniel Jamieson.

2014

July 21
Scott is starting a two-week stint at the Broadway nightclub 54 Below, playing trombone in a six-piece group backing up renowned Broadway star Patti LuPone for her show "Lady with a Torch". Scott will be returning to New York in April 2015 to play for the show again.

Scott's piece "HFL" is being premiered by the BMI/NY Jazz Orchestra as part of the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop concert at the Christ and St. Stephen Church in New York, NY.

Scott's 25-minute suite for jazz band with trombone soloist titled "Night Suite" is being premiered at the International Trombone Festival, performed by Jim Pugh with the Eastman Jazz Ensemble.

Scott was named a nominee for the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop's Charlie Parker Prize/Manny Albam Commission. Scott's piece "HFL" will be premiered by the BMI/NY Jazz Orchestra as part of the Jazz Composers Workshop concert at the Christ and St. Stephen Church in New York, NY on June 27.

Scott has been awarded the position of Staff Arranger with "The President's Own" United States Marine Band.

A performance of CINDERELLA: THE REAL TRUE STORY is taking place at Joe's Public in New York, NY. Scott provided the orchestrations for this musical, and will be performing on keyboard.

February 11
Scott has been named the winner of the New York Youth Symphony First Music Competition. He has been commissioned to write a piece for big band which will be premiered on March 16th at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola in New York, NY.

January 16
Scott is conducting the Meetinghouse Jazz Orchestra performing his music as part of the MLK Jr. Birthday Concert benefiting the Friends Shelter. Steve Wilson is featured as a guest artist with the band.

2013

December 01
The Cal State Long Beach Concert Jazz Orchestra has released an album "High & Mighty" which features two of Scott's compositions.

November 29
Scott has completed a commission by the Cal State Long Beach University Brass Quintet. The resulting piece, "Scherzos and Interludes", consists of five two-minute movements.

September 01
Scott's arrangement of Dave Brubeck's "In Your Own Sweet Way" is being performed at the 2013 Detroit Jazz Festival as part of the Detroit Jazz Festival Orchestra Commission Project concert.

August 16
Scott's arrangement of Dave Brubeck's "In Your Own Sweet Way" has been named the winner of the 2013 Detroit Jazz Festival JC Heard Jazz Arranging Competition. The piece will be performed at the festival on September 1.

August 02
Scott's piece for baritone vocalist and orchestra titled "Sylvan Spirits" is being performed in Bologna, Italy by the Teatro Comunale di Bologna Orchestra in a commemorative concert honoring the victims of the Bologna Massacre. The text of the piece consists of three poems, Anne Brontë's "Lines Composed in a Wood on a Windy Day", Rudyard Kipling's "The Way Through the Woods", and Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening".

June 30
Scott has been chosen as the third prize winner of the "2 Agosto" International Composing Competition. His piece "Sylvan Spirits" will be performed in Bologna, Italy on August 2 in a commemorative concert honoring the victims of the Bologna Massacre.

May 10
Scott has graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Master's degree in jazz composition.

February 28
Scott has his graduate jazz composition recital at the Manhattan School of Music, featuring ten compositions composed during his tenure at the school. The recital features full big band for the first set and a dectet for the second half.

February 18
Scott is spending the week in Hilversum, The Netherlands working with the Metropole Orkest as part of the Arrangers Workshop. Scott's arrangement of "Three Views of a Secret" is being performed with guest soloist Richard Bona at Lanteren Venster in Rotterdam.

2012

November 28
Scott has been selected as one of eight international participants in the 2013 Metropole Orkest Arrangers Workshop. Scott will participate in rehearsals and masterclasses with Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orkest and will have the unique opportunity of writing an arrangement for guest-vocalist Richard Bona.

2011

December 9
Scott's composition "Figure It Out" is being premiered by the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band at Symphony Space in New York, NY. The piece was commissioned as part of the New York Youth Symphony First Music program.

October 13
Scott is working with the United States Air Force Airmen of Note for the next few days, concluding in a concert at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. They are performing his piece "Trial Run", which won the Sammy Nestico Award.

September 08
Scott has been awarded the Sammy Nestico Award, sponsored by the USAF Airmen of Note. Scott will be working with the Airmen when they perform his composition "Trial Run" in October. In addition, Scott has been commissioned to write a piece for the group for future use in other concerts.

August 15
Scott has been accepted into the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop under the leadership of Jim McNeely. The BMI Jazz Composers Workshop is a regular meeting of composers to foster the musical growth and to create a body of work that helps to extend the language of composition for the jazz orchestra. The workshop enables composers to come together in order to share ideas and to learn from one another.

May 15
Scott has graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's degree in jazz trombone performance. He will be attending the Manhattan School of Music in New York in the Fall.

April 15
Scott has been named the winner of the New York Youth Symphony First Music Competition. He has been commissioned to write a piece for big band which will be premiered on December 9th and 10th at Symphony Space in New York, NY.

March 02
Scott has been named the winner of the Undergraduate Arrangement category of the 2011 Downbeat Student Music Awards for his arrangement of Glenn Wilson's "If I Only Had Seven Giant Brains".

January 08
Scott's piece "Trial Run" is being performed by the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band at the Jazz Educators Network Conference in New Orleans, LA as part of the Student Composition Showcase.

2010

December 01
Scott has been named the winner of the Jazz Educators Network Student Composition Showcase for his piece "Trial Run". He will be attending the JEN conference in New Orleans, LA to hear his piece performed by the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band.

June 01
Scott has been selected as the lead trombonist for the Disney All-American College Band. This program gives top college musicians from around the U.S. the opportunity to spend a summer performing in Disneyland for guests, working with clinicians, and working on special projects.

April 15
Scott is recording a double-disc album titled "Free Play" with the University of Illinois Concert Jazz Band. Scott is the lead trombonist on the album and has five compositions and two arrangements featured on the discs.
