Harlem Drive

Written for the Millikin University Symphonic Wind Ensemble in 2017, Harlem Drive captures the energy of driving through New York City: a chorus of car horns, street sounds, and Afro-Cuban dance rhythms shaped around an asymmetrical son montuno. A calmer middle section escapes across the George Washington Bridge before the music returns to the city’s bustle.
