Originally written for four horns, Perpetual is one of the composer’s most structurally intricate combo works. Written piano solos frame an even-eighth central section filled with modern harmonic shifts and unexpected turns. A lyrical horn melody takes center stage while the rhythm section supplies playful, dynamic interplay.
